BIOLASE Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: BLTI), the world's leading dental laser manufacturer and distributor, today announced that the Waterlase® iPlus™ System dual-wavelength all-tissue laser was very successfully received at the Yankee Dental Congress 36 held at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center January 27-29. Multiple sales were concluded at the meeting and a substantial number of highly qualified sales leads were generated, according to Chairman and CEO Federico Pignatelli.

The Waterlase iPlus, BIOLASE's new flagship laser product, is the most advanced laser in the market and the first major breakthrough in all-tissue laser technology since the Waterlase MD™ was introduced in 2005. The Waterlase iPlus, with its Intuitive Power Control, not only addresses the key functional needs for the next generation of laser dentists, but it also delivers double the power and cutting speed with unparalleled control and versatility for all laser dentist users, experienced or novice. Performing most types of procedures with the new Waterlase iPlus provides minimal to no pain or discomfort, minimizes the need for local anesthetic in most restorative cases, eliminates the risk of cross-contamination associated with conventional drills and burs, and results in preserving the tissue biologically intact, and without causing the damaging micro-fractures of the tooth structure and avoiding the necrosis caused by heat and abrasion.

Unlike dental lasers of the last decade, the Waterlase iPlus features a revolutionary and intuitive applications-based user interface with a large high resolution touch screen programmed with over 50 factory-loaded procedure presets. Dentists can simply choose which procedure to perform -- from "bread and butter" restorative cases to specialty cases like periodontal or endodontic -- and the Waterlase iPlus will program everything for the dentist, becoming the first truly "user friendly" dental laser.

The Waterlase iPlus is available in a system configuration and features the proprietary 2780 nm Er;Cr:YSGG technology together with an integrated 5 watt iLase™ 940 nm diode laser or as a standalone unit. The Er;Cr:YSGG technology has been the industry standard for all tissue dental lasers since its introduction in 1998 after FDA approval. The iLase enhances the capabilities of the Er;Cr:YSGG by providing a portable diode laser that can be utilized for unexpected soft-tissue treatments in other treatment rooms, better control of bleeding, and the potential for temporary pain relief and teeth whitening.
