Nonprofit organization Children's Hope
India (CHI) has announced the honorees for this year's
Spring Luncheon which will be held on Wednesday, May 8th at Leonard's Palazzo in
New York. The luncheon will
benefit CHI's "30/30 Education Initiative" which provides early
education, tuition, concept learning and career counseling to
children attending CHI centers.
"Empowering women and girls through
education and entrepreneurship is crucial for their success in
today's world, and we have made it our mission to provide them with
the tools necessary to achieve their goals."
This year's Woman of Distinction is Roopa Unnikrishnan, who is a SVP, Strategy and
Corporate Development at IDEX Corporation. A President's Arjuna
Award gold medal winner and Rhodes Scholar, Roopa holds an MBA from
Oxford University. She is a strategist,
sportswoman and mother of twins. Avani Modi
Sarkar, Co-Founder of Modi Toys and New York artist and Parsons graduate
Jeena Raghavan will be honored as
this year's Rising Stars.

including Rising Stars Avani Modi Sarkar and Jeena Raghavan, as well as Gopi Vaid and Ranna
Gill who will be showcasing and selling their products at
the event, with 15 percent of proceeds going to CHI's "30/30
Education Initiative." Attendees will be able to shop and enjoy
cocktails and lunch during the event, beginning at 11:30 a.m. ET.
