WASHINGTON, June 7, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Glenn F. Ivey,
the longtime State's Attorney in Prince
George's County, has joined District-based law firm Price
Benowitz LLP (PriceBenowitz.com) as a partner in the firm.
"We're thrilled that Glenn has decided to join Price Benowitz as
we continue to grow and provide value for our clients," Founding
Partner David Benowitz said.
"I'm excited to join a strong litigation firm that places
priority on serving its clients, without being saddled with the
traditional structure and business model of many District firms,"
Ivey said.
Ivey's political and government experience adds another level of
expertise to Price Benowitz's flourishing criminal defense
practice. "Glenn will have the opportunity to thrive in a
collaborative environment, while providing experience and
leadership that will no doubt make all of our people stronger
advocates for our clients," Benowitz added.
Ivey will represent individuals and companies involved in
business and commercial disputes, internal investigations and
legislative matters, criminal defense, regulatory issues, and
serious injuries.
Based in Washington, DC, Price
Benowitz also has offices in Maryland's Prince
George's, Montgomery,
Howard, and Baltimore Counties, across Virginia in Fairfax, Prince
William, Richmond, and
Norfolk Counties, and New York.
A graduate of Princeton University
and Harvard Law School, Ivey began
his career more than 30 years ago at a law firm in Baltimore before working on Capitol Hill for
Congressman John Conyers, Jr. He
later served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney at the U.S. Attorney's
Office in Washington, DC under
future Attorney General Eric Holder.
In 2002, he was elected State's Attorney for Prince George's County, where he served for
eight years, leading an office of 75 attorneys. Ivey chose not to
seek a third term and returned to private practice in 2011.
In addition to practicing law, Ivey is a faculty member at
Harvard Law School's renowned Trial Advocacy Workshop, and
previously was an adjunct professor for 19 years at the
University of Maryland School of Law in
Baltimore. Glenn and his wife of
29 years, Jolene, a former state delegate, live in Cheverly, Maryland and remain active in their
