                                   TRADING UPDATE



White Young Green Plc, Consultant to the built and natural environment, is
pleased to provide a trading update at the end of its financial year to 30 June,
including news on recent significant contract awards and their impact on its
order book.  These are as follows:



Current trading is in line with market expectation and the Group will announce
its preliminary results on 29 September 2003.



Recent contracts wins provide increased visibility to the long-term forward
workload. At this early stage approximately 70% of the anticipated turnover for
the year to June 2004 is now secured.  The order book currently stands at #125m
representing an increase of 23% from this time last year.



Contracts awarded to White Young Green Plc over recent months include:



1.                  A minimum four-year contract from the Home Office Buildings
and Estates Management Unit (BEMU) to provide a wide range of professional
property management services to their nationwide estate.  The scope of work
involves both total asset management and capital works projects.



2.                  An appointment by Defence Estates as Principal Support
Provider (PSP)  for their largest regional Prime Contract;  the Central Business
Unit which covers all of the North of England, the Midlands and Wales.  The
contract term is 7 years and the capital value of the contract is likely to be
in the order of #750m.



3.                  Two separate appointments as Employers Agent on behalf of
the Highways Agency for strategically important improvement projects at M1
Junction 19 and the A45/A46 junction.  The total capital value of these
contracts is likely to be in excess of #150m.



4.                  A five-year contract with Kent County Council to provide a
wide range of Professional Consultancy Services across a property portfolio,
comprising over 1,500 buildings.



5.         An appointment with Robertsons Construction to provide
multi-discipline design services on the #60m Newcastle LIFT Project (Local
Improvement Finance Trust).  This is one of the first 'LIFT' contracts to be
awarded in a national programme of improvements to primary healthcare
infrastructure in all major urban areas.
