                            Directors' Shareholding

White Young Green ("the Company") has been informed that Richard McCaffrey, a
Director of the Company, yesterday undertook the following transactions and has
increased his personal shareholding in the Company.

Richard McCaffrey exercised 19,000 shares awarded under the White Young Green
Plc Executive Share Option Scheme (1996) and has sold 3,095 shares at 453p.

In addition, 3,084 shares were transferred to his spouse, Margaret McCaffrey who
sold 3,084 shares at 453p.

As a result, Mr McCaffrey's beneficial ownership in the Company has increased to
29,072 ordinary shares which represents 0.0563% of the issued share capital.
