                   TOTAL SYSTEMS plc : CONTRACT GAIN

Total  Systems  plc,  suppliers of established  software  products  and
services  to  the Financial Services markets, are pleased  to  announce
that DIXONS GROUP PLC, the nationwide retailer, have chosen ULTIMA, its
Insurance  System  product, for their Mastercare and Coverplan  Service
Agreements.

The  contract  was  won after a thorough and lengthy selection  process
that involved some of the major suppliers to the industry.

ULTIMA  was  chosen  because  of its functionality,  flexibility,  full
Internet capability and the speed with which ULTIMA allows end users to
quickly  handle changes and deliver new products across many  lines  of
business.

ULTIMA  is aimed primarily at the high-volume General Insurance  market
where  it  is  currently supporting over 20 Lines  of  Business.  These
include products such as Private Car, Household, Healthcare and  Travel
Insurance.

Commenting on the new contract, Terry Bourne, Chairman of Total Systems
said:  "This is a significant contract gain for Total Systems  and  was
secured  against  stiff competition. The overall  number  of  different
products being written using ULTIMA is growing monthly."  He added: "It
is  also  being  widely  used for writing many commercial  lines.   Its
unique  feature is Product Developer Plus (PD+), which allows  Business
Users  to  quickly  adapt system functionality  to  meet  their  market
demands.   It  also  allows  them  to  introduce  new  products  within
remarkably short time scales."

The  initial  system  at Dixons, destined for the UK  and  Republic  of
Ireland  (followed by Pan European usage of ULTIMA) will comprise  some
1,250  on-line users.  It will process millions of historical  warranty
agreements  and some 9.1 million current Coverplan Agreements.   ULTIMA
will sit on a SUN E10000 running UNIX.
