NOTICE OF INTERIM RESULTS

Christian Salvesen PLC will announce its results for the half year to 30th
September 2001 on Tuesday 4th December 2001.

A presentation to analysts will take place at 9.30am on that date, at the City
Media Centre, The London Stock Exchange, Old Broad Street, London, EC1N 1HP.
The presentation made at that meeting will be available via webcast on
Christian Salvesen's website (http://www.salvesen.com).

This announcement will follow a meeting of a duly authorised committee of the
Board of Directors to be held that day to approve the interim report and to
declare a dividend.  The dividend on the ordinary shares will be paid on
Monday 28th January 2002 to shareholders on the register at 4th January 2002.
Consequently the shares will be ex-dividend from 2nd January 2002.
