The Board of Riceman Insurance Investments plc ("Riceman") announces that,
with effect 1st December 1998, Kamran Amin (formerly Managing Director) has
been appointed as Chief Executive of the Company in place of Mr R J Alford
(formerly Chairman and Chief Executive), who has resigned from the Board in
order to pursue his other business interests.

The Board of Riceman expects to make additional Board appointments in due
course.
