Qualceram Shires plc (the "Company" or the "Group") 
 
 
Market Update Position 
 
 
Dublin, London, 20 March 2009:The Group has noted the share price movement on 19 
March 2009 and provides the following update on its trading and on its 
negotiations with key stakeholders. 
 
 
Since its announcement on 26 February 2009, the Company continues to be 
adversely affected by the unprecedented slowdown in the property market which 
continues to impact on the Group's markets and financial performance. 
 
 
Negotiations with the Group's main landlords and bankers continue, but whilst an 
acceptable conclusion may yet be reached, the discussions are proving 
challenging. In light of these challenges, and of the trading backdrop, the 
Group is examining all appropriate options. 
 
 
The Group will provide a further update as and when appropriate.
