               Phoenix IT Group plc ("Phoenix" or the "Company")

                             Transaction by a PDMR


The Company was today notified that on 7 August 2007 Nick Robinson, Chief
Executive, sold 2.0 million ordinary shares in the Company at 445 pence per
share.  The total number of shares disposed represents 2.7% of the Company's
issued share capital.

Following the disposal, Nick Robinson's interest in the Company is over 4.16
million ordinary shares, representing 5.6% of the Company's issued share
capital.

Nick Robinson commented, "I have sold these shares for personal reasons. I
remain a significant shareholder in the business and have undertaken to the
Board not to make any further sales of shares in Phoenix for at least 18
months."

This notification relates to both a transaction notified to the Company in
accordance with 3.1.4R(1)(a) of the Disclosure Rules and a disclosure made in
accordance with section 324 (as extended by section 328) of the Companies Act
1985.
