Pacific Alliance Asia Opportunity Fund Limited ("PAX" or the "Company") (AIM: PAX), the closed-end investment company admitted to trading on AIM, announces the following dealings in the Company.

The Company has been informed that on 30 May 2014, Pacific Alliance Asia Opportunity Fund L.P., a Cayman Islands exempted limited partnership (the "Master Fund") in which the Company invests substantially all its assets, purchased a total of 20,730,708 of the Company's ordinary shares (the "Ordinary Shares") at a price of US$1.55 per Ordinary Share.

As a result of the transaction, the Master Fund is directly interested in, and Mr. Gradel, a director of the Company, is indirectly interested in, 27,397,526of the Company's Ordinary Shares, representing 27.27 per cent. of the Company's voting rights.

Mr. Gradel remains directly interested in 8,656,512 of the Company's Ordinary Shares representing 8.62 per cent. of the Company's total voting rights. Mr. Gradel is indirectly interested in a further 9,193,608 of the Company's Ordinary Shares held by Pacific Alliance Investment Management and its affiliates, bringing Mr. Gradel's indirect interest to 36,591,134, representing 36.42 per cent of the Company's voting rights
