          Substantial Shareholding Notification


The  Company announces that it received notice  yesterday
in  accordance with the provisions of section 198 of  the
Companies  Act  1985,  that  Norwich  Union  plc  has  an
interest in 18,369,002 ordinary shares of 1p each in  the
Company,  representing approximately 5.77% of the  issued
ordinary  share  capital  of  the  Company.   The  notice
supersedes the notice issued by Norwich Union plc,  which
was received by the Company on 3 April 2000.
