Broadnet Selects Newport to Address VoIP Service Growth

Chepstow, UK, 6th December, 2005. Newport Networks, the developer of
carrier-class Session Border Controllers, has been selected by Broadnet, a
leading broadband internet carrier in Germany to deliver a range of session
control solutions including Newport's regulatory feature set for Broadnet's VoIP
service portfolio.

Founded in 1995 and with revenues of over Euro9M per quarter, Broadnet has the
third largest wireless local loop and DSL infrastructure in Germany. Broadnet
offers powerful communication solutions such as IP-VPN and Centrex services to
business customers via their broadband network. Broadnet also offers
professional internet services to residential customers with a range of
additional value added capabilities such as VoIP.

The Newport Network's 1460 session controller is the industry's most future
proof session control solution offering unmatched scalability, performance and
investment protection. The Newport 1460 can be deployed in an extremely flexible
manner separating both signalling and media alongside a simple migration path to
important future standards such as IMS (IP Multi-Media Subsystem). Broadnet will
deploy the Newport 1460 to provide IP multi-media access security to its
customers during 2006.

"Broadnet has exacting standards in the delivery of its broadband business
services," commented Dr. Clemens Plieth, COO of Broadnet. "The growth in our
business has created a need for a highly scalable session control solution that
can meet our anticipated needs over the next few years. We looked at a number of
session control solutions and the Newport solution was the only one that fully
met our scalability requirements while not limiting the network architecture."
he added.

"Newport is making rapid progress in the European market," commented John
Everard, Chief Executive Officer of Newport Networks. "The 1460 is fast becoming
the product of choice for service providers who have aggressive traffic growth
needs and require a carrier class solution for their VoIP security," he added.
