               LONRHO'S BYTES & PIECES NAMED TOP I.T. COMPANY IN
                           MOZAMBIQUE IN KPMG REPORT


Lonrho (AIM : LONR), the conglomerate with a diverse portfolio of African
investments, is pleased to announce that Sociedade Comercial Bytes & Pieces,
Limitada ("Bytes & Pieces"), its 65% owned subsidiary, has been ranked top IT
company in Mozambique in KPMG's 2007 report, 'The Top 100 Companies in
Mozambique survey'.  Bytes & Pieces, a Dell master distributor, provides turnkey
network solutions, maintenance and support to Mozambique's I.T. business, NGO's
and Government organisations.

This annual survey, produced by KPMG since 1998, has proved to be an important
tool for potential investors into Mozambique and offers companies operating in
the country a useful benchmark for comparison amongst their peers.

Bytes and Pieces, which celebrated its 10th anniversary last year, was rated as
the top I.T. service company in the communications and information sector in the
report
