In conformity with the Transparency Directive, Lonrho was informed on 9 January
2008 by UBS AG London Branch of UBS Investment Bank that, as at 4 January 2008,
UBS AG London Branch was interested in 35,492,644 ordinary shares of 1 pence
each in the share capital of the Company ("Ordinary Shares"), representing
11.03% of the Company's issued share capital, and as at 7 January 2008, UBS AG
London Branch was interested in 34,492,644 Ordinary Shares, representing 10.72%
of the Company's issued share capital.
