PURCHASE OF OWN SHARES & TOTAL VOTING RIGHTS


Pursuant to its irrevocable, non-discretionary share repurchase programme
announced on 31 August 2007, Luminar plc announces that it has today purchased
for cancellation 50,000 ordinary shares of 25p each at 624.598 pence per share.


Following today's purchase the capital of the Company consists of 67,721,941
ordinary shares with voting rights. The Company does not hold any shares in
Treasury.


Therefore, the total number of voting rights in the Company is 67,721,941.
