AIM RELEASE

KIMBERLEY DIAMOND COMPANY NL (the Company) (AIM: KDC)

The Company advises that it has received a notice of change of interests of
significant holder from Gem Diamonds Limited, Gem Diamonds Australia Pty
Limited (GDAPL) and its various affiliated companies (collectively the Gem
Group). The Gem Group has increased its holding to 83,728,466 shares
representing 19.51 percent of the Company's issued capital. The change resulted
from acceptances of GDAPL's Offer dated 30 August 2007 made under that
company's off-market takeover bid for KDC.
