Jarvis plc ("the Company") reports that it has been notified by JPMorgan Chase &
Co. in a letter dated 18 July 2007 attaching a copy of a TR-1 Notifications of
Major Interests in Shares that following transactions on 16 July 2007 JPMorgan
Chase & Co. through shareholdings held by J.P. Morgan Securities Inc. and
JPMorgan Asset Management (UK) Limited has a combined direct and indirect
holding over 18,066,482 ordinary shares in the capital of the Company
representing 8.84% of the voting rights in and the issued share capital of the
Company. 13,022,911 ordinary shares are held directly representing 6.37% of the
voting rights in and the issued share capital of the Company. 5,043,571 shares
are held indirectly representing 2.47% of the voting rights in and the issued
share capital of the Company.


The holdings by controlled undertakings of JPMorgan Chase & Co. are as follows:

- J.P. Morgan Securities Inc.: 13,022,911 shares representing 6.37% of the
  shares and voting rights in the Company;

- JPMorgan Asset Management (UK) Limited.
