Jourdan  plc  ("Jourdan" or "the Company") announces that  it  has
acquired,   in  aggregate,  6,763,577  ordinary  shares   in   SEP
Industrial  Holdings plc ("SEP"), representing approximately  6.77
per cent. of SEP's issued ordinary share capital, for an aggregate
cash consideration of #746,003.

SEP  is  the  parent  company  of a  group  of  manufacturing  and
distribution companies.  It is quoted on the Official List of  the
London  Stock  Exchange  and is currently  capitalised  at  #13.33
million.

In the announcement of interim results for the six months ended 31
March  1999,  SEP reported a loss before taxation of #598,000  and
had  net assets of #13.23 million.  In the year ended 30 September
1998, SEP made a loss before taxation of #10.98 million.

Jourdan  has experience in the engineering sector and has acquired
the shareholding in SEP as an investment.
