                      Investment in Tarquin Resources Plc



Investika Ltd, the investment company in the mining finance industry with a
focus on pre-production emerging resource opportunities announces today the
following investment in Tarquin Resources Plc ("Tarquin" or the "Company"):



                               PRIVATE PLACEMENT



The directors of Tarquin (AIM : TQN), the copper exploration company operating
in Chile, are pleased to announce that the Company has placed 4,814,816 new
Ordinary Shares of #0.15 each to raise #1.3 million. The placing price is #0.27
per share. The funds will be utilised to further develop the Company's Las
Pascualas project in Chile and for working capital.



Following the placing the Company has on issue 15,322,575 Ordinary Shares.



Of the placing shares, 1,111,112 (#300,000) were placed with the Company's major
shareholder, Investika Ltd. Mr Chrisilios Kyriakou, a director of the Company is
also a director of Investika Ltd. Following the placing, Investika Ltd holds
4,263,074 Ordinary Shares, representing 27.8% of the total Ordinary Shares on
issue.



Investika is a related party of the Company and with the exception of any
director who is involved in the transaction as a related party, its directors
consider, having consulted with its nominated adviser, that the terms of the
transaction are fair and reasonable insofar as its shareholders are concerned.



Following the placing, the directors' interests in the Company's Ordinary Shares
are as set out below:



* Chrisilios Kyriakou has an interest in 4,342,076 Ordinary Shares, including
the interest held through Investika Ltd;

* Charles de Chezelles has an interest in 511,111 Ordinary Shares; and

* Brian Parritt has an interest in 54,410 Ordinary Shares.
