Hydro International plc are pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Roger
Lockwood as non-executive Chairman with effect from 1 January 2000.  Mr.
Lockwood will join the Board as a non-executive director with effect from 1
November 1999.  He will succeed Ronald Somerville whom we wish well in
retirement after six successful years with the Company.

Roger Lockwood is an experienced director and is currently Chairman of Rotork
plc.  He is also Chairman of Colston Engineering Co. and has previously held CEO
roles in engineering and automotive businesses.
