                        Annual General Meeting Statement



New Milton, UK, 3 May 2006 - The Board of Genetix Group plc (LSE: GTX) ("Genetix
" or the "Company"), the cell biology and proteomics technology group, will hold
its Annual General Meeting today at 11.30am.



At the beginning of the meeting, Mark Reid, Chief Executive of Genetix, will
make the following statement:



"We continue to make progress in introducing our cell biology products in the
biopharmaceutical market. Our new product, ClonepixFL has been well received and
we are excited about the launch of new applications for the CloneSelectImager.
Customer enquiries and leads are strong, but with the extended lead times in
converting these into firm orders we expect the year to be weighted towards the
second half.



By delivering significant cost and time benefits to our customers, these and
other related products will underpin our growth in the biopharmaceutical market
and we remain positive about the prospects for the full year as a whole."
