DONG MAO HUO DRILLING UPDATE
LONDON - 30 September 2008 - Central China Goldfields plc (AIM: GGG) is pleased
to report the final silver and copper assay results from the summer 2008
reverse circulation ("RC") drilling programme and the recent infill surface
channel sampling programme conducted at the Dong Mao Huo gold project in the
Nei Menggu Autonomous Region of China. All of the gold assay results have been
announced previously on 18 June, 30 June, 8 July and 22 July 2008. Silver and
copper assay results for holes RC16-28 have also been announced on 8 July 2008.
Highlights:
* Significant gold, silver and copper grades in Holes RC29-52 include:
* Drillhole RC37 intercepted 5 metres grading 3.15 grammes per tonne ("g/t")
gold, 46.7 g/t silver and 0.53% copper from 44 metres down hole
* Drillhole RC41 intercepted 6 metres grading 3.25 g/t gold, 39.2 g/t silver
and 1.21% copper from 109 metres down hole
* Drillhole RC43A intercepted 1 metre grading 84 g/t gold, 110.9 g/t silver
and 2.2% copper from 57 metres down hole
* Drillhole RC44A intercepted 10 metres grading 1.41 g/t gold, 15.2 g/t
silver and 0.29% copper from 71 metres down hole.
* Channel sampling of the walls of Pit 1 of West Hill returned several
gold-rich zones with variable widths between 2 to 6 metres of which the
highest is 5.95 g/t gold over 2 metres.
* In the adjacent Pit 2 three other gold rich zones were also intersected
with widths of up to 9 metres grading 1.16 g/t gold and 1.1 g/t silver.
* In Pit 3 there are seven gold-rich zones with widths of up to 9 metres
grading 1.04 g/t gold and 2.0 g/t silver.
* In Adit 4 at East Hill, channel sampling of two mineralised zones returned
grades of: 1.13 g/t gold and 3.5 g/t silver over 8 metres; and 2.94 g/t
gold and 3.0 g/t silver over 2 metres.
* In Adit 5 in East Hill, two mineralised zones returned grades of: 0.65-0.81
g/t gold and 3.3-4.6 g/t silver over 6 to 8 metre widths. Outcrops also
returned 3 metres grading 1.76 g/t gold and 28.1 g/t silver and 4 metres
grading 2.38 g/t gold.
Jeff Malaihollo, Managing Director of Central China Goldfields, comments:
"We are now completing the in-house resource calculations and mine development
plan for Dong Mao Huo and this will be followed by bulk sampling of the oxide
gold on the East Hill. This is the precursor to mining which is scheduled for
early 2009.
These drill results validate the drill success to date and provide additional
knowledge on the location of the higher grade mineralisation at depth. The
presence of significant amounts of silver and copper further improves the
economics of the project."

Drilling Results Details:
All of the gold assay results have been announced previously on 18 June, 30
June, 8 July and 22 July 2008. Silver and copper results for holes RC16-28 have
also been announced on 8 July 2008. To date, copper ("Cu") and silver ("Ag")
results have been received for the last 24 of the 50 RC holes programme. The
results are shown in Table 1.
