                             DRILLING TO COMMENCE

LONDON - 15 April 2008

Central China Goldfields plc (AIM: GGG) is pleased to announce that preparation
for a 4,000 metre Reverse Circulation drilling programme, covering
approximately 35 holes, is underway at the Dong Mao Huo project in China.

The aim of the drilling is to upgrade the resource category and assist mine
planning by infilling the drill grid from 80 x 80 metres to approximately 40 x
40 metres.

Current interpretation suggests that the high grade gold-basemetal vein zones
in the southern part of the Main Zone are northerly trending and therefore
requires an east-west directed drill pattern. All previous holes were directed
to intersect east-west trending mineralised zones.

Drilling will start on or before the 15th of May 2008.

Jeff Malaihollo, Managing Director of Central China Goldfields plc, comments:

"Following the sale of Snow Mountain on the 2nd of April 2008 which raised
$5.4m, we will now be aggressively reinvesting those funds at Dong Mao Huo and
at the Nimu copper project with the aim of significantly increasing the value
of our two core assets over the next 15 months.

Our goal at Dong Mao Hao is to put the open-pit gold oxide part of the deposit
into production before the end of Q1 2009, with a view of developing the
high-grade gold-basemetal part of the deposit at a later stage."

Technical information in the Company news releases has been reviewed and
approved by Ciceron "Jun" Angeles (MSc. FAusIMM, CPGeo) the Company's
Exploration Manager. He is qualified as a Competent Person under the Code for
the Reporting Mineral Exploration Results, Mineral Resources and Mineral
Reserves, 2004 ("The Reporting Code") prepared by the Australasian Institute of
Mining and Metallurgy and the Australian Institute of Geoscientists.
