                APPOINTMENT OF VP OF MINING AND VP EXPLORATION                 

LONDON - 14 January 2008 Central China Goldfields plc (AIM: GGG) is pleased to
announce the appointment of Mr Delio Villamor as Vice President of Mining and
Ciceron "Jun" Angeles as Vice President Exploration.

Delio has been appointed following the acquisition of the Nileke copper project
and the decision to accelerate the redevelopment of the near surface Dong Mao
Hao gold mine.

Delio was most recently the Chief Mining Engineer in an underground gold mine
with Lepanto Consolidated Mining Company in the Philippines. He has over 30
years of experience in all aspects of underground and surface mining. He
graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mining Engineering from the
University of the Philippines (1975).

The Company is also pleased to appoint Jun Angeles, our current Exploration
Manager, as Vice President Exploration. Jun has been instrumental in the rapid
development of the Nimu Project.

The Company also announces that John Charles Forrest, as from 1st January 2008,
has changed from an Executive to a Non-Executive Director. Mr. Forrest will
continue to assist the Company with financial matters.
