                    HIGH-GRADE MINERALISATION AT SONGPANGUO

LONDON - 3 November 2005 - Central China Goldfields plc (AIM: GGG, GGGW)
reports results from the Songpanguo deposit, Baima Area in the Snow Mountain
Project.

Highlights:

  * Result from CM5 tunnel in the Songpanguo deposit returns 4.7m @ 14.9 g/t Au

  * The results suggest that the high-grade gold mineralisation in the
Songpanguo deposit widened across the intersection of two faults

  * CM5 tunnel is perpendicular to tunnel PD404 which previously returned 5.2m
    @ 22.9 g/t Au

  * Results from other underground tunnels are in progress

Chris Ford, Exploration Manager Central China Goldfields, said "We are pleased
that these results indicate that the higher grades, previously obtained by our
partners, the Sichuan Bureau of Metallurgy and Geological Exploration
("SBMGE"), using wet assay method, have been confirmed by the more accurate
fire assay method. We are continuing exploration of this deposit, which is open
at depth and may contain further zones parallel to those already identified in
trenches and adits."

Jeff Malaihollo, Central China Goldfields' Managing Director, stated
"Underground tunnelling in the Baima area provides more information and is
significantly cheaper compared to drilling. This initial result from CM5, in
particular, is highly encouraging as it identifies the widening of the known
mineralised zone."

The Company reports assays from the recently completed underground tunnel
(adit) CM5. This adit was developed perpendicular (crosscut) to the old tunnel
PD404 which was cleaned and re-sampled in areas where mineralised rock is
exposed.

The samples were analysed by SGS laboratory in Tianjin, China, using the 50
grammes fire assay method. Assays in the new CM5 crosscut average 4.7m @ 14.9 g
/t Au. This cuts across a widening of the mineralised zone near the
intersection of two fault zones. The mineralisation is hosted by graphitic
shear zones containing realgar and orpiment which give values of > 1% arsenic,
and elevated antimony and mercury, which is characteristic for this style of
mineralisation.

Previous sampling by SBMGE, sampled perpendicular to the CM5 crosscut across
the pod of mineralisation assayed 5.2m @ 22.9 g/t Au which has been removed
during trial mining.

Older data from SBMGE in the zone to the north of CM5 in the PD404 adit shows
three samples, about 5 metres apart, varying in width from 0.35 to 0.56m
(average 0.48m) , which give an average of 12.45 g/t Au. It appears that the
zone then widens out southwards at the intersection of two faults around the
junction of CM5 and PD404 .

At the mouth of PD404 tunnel, which was driven along the mineralised structure,
a recent check sample taken from the roof of the tunnel, at an angle of 60
degrees to the zone, assayed 19.5g/t Au over 1m (true width 0.9m). This
represents the northward continuation of mineralised zone identified in CM5.

Technical information in Company announcements has been received and approved
by Chris Ford MSc. who is the Company's Exploration Manager and is qualified as
a Competent Person under the Code for the Reporting of Mineral Exploration
Results, Mineral Resources and Mineral Reserves ("The Reporting Code") prepared
by the Institute of Mining and Metallurgy.
