EXPLORATION UPDATE - NEW GOLD ZONES IN HUJIAGOU LICENCE
LONDON - 26 October 2005 - Central China Goldfields plc (AIM: GGG, GGGW)
reports results from soil sampling survey at the Hujiagou Licence, Baima area,
in the Snow Mountain Project, Sichuan Province of China.
Highlights:
* Soil sampling in the Hujiagou licence identified new gold zones
* The new zones extend the potential strike length of mineralisation of the
Songpanguo deposit by at least 3 km
* Additional trenching will be carried out to follow-up this discovery
Central China Goldfields' Exploration Manager, Chris Ford, said "These new
results from the Hujiagou Licence are extremely encouraging. Significant new
gold anomalies on previously untested ground, extends the prospective strike of
the mineralised trend from Songpanguo by at least 3 km. We will be following
this up with trenching to test these results. The area would be amenable to
further testing by tunnels if further favourable results are received."
Jeff Malaihollo, Central China Goldfields' Managing Director, stated "Our
systematic approach in exploration have shown that the Baima area can be
potentially much bigger than the current resources of 350,000 ounces of gold.
We have announced new gold zones in the Shuiniujia, Hujiagou (Songpanguo) and
Xiangshujia Licences. All of these licences are within 6 km of each other in
the Baima area of Snow Mountain and we will look to have a combined centralised
operation for these deposits."
The Company reports that assays from the recently completed soil survey grid
over 2.2 km2 of the northern section of the Hujiagou licence shows newly
discovered gold in soil anomalies from 30 to 100 parts per billion ("ppb") Au
which extends across three lines each 200 m apart. The district scale
geological trends suggest that they may represent two or three NW trending
zones extending over 400 m along strike across rugged topography at an
elevation of 3000 m.
The Hujiagou licence area includes the Songpanguo deposit which has an inferred
resource of 6.34 tonnes (200,000 ounces) of gold, defined to various Chinese
standards.
These new zones lie 3 km to the NNE of the known mineralised zones at
Songpanguo and indicate that mineralisation is present along sub-parallel
structures for a significant distance.
A programme of trenching and channel sampling will be carried out over the
anomalies
