     * Results from orientation BLEG sampling indicate that this can be an
          effective method of sampling

          exploration licences prepared

LONDON - 12 July 2005 - Central China Goldfields plc (AIM: GGG, GGGW) has
completed its orientation BLEG (Bulk Leach Extractable Gold) survey in the Baima
region, Sichuan Province. BLEG survey is a method of sampling stream sediments
with a high degree of sensitivity (it can detect as little as 0.05 parts per
billion "ppb" gold), which allows rapid coverage of large areas with low density
sampling. The samples were analysed at the SGS Lakefield Oretest Laboratory in
Western Australia.

The orientation BLEG survey in the Baima region, where the Company has 4 of its
7 exploration licences, shows that known prospects Song Pang Guo and Shu Niu Jia
are proving to give the largest responses, 5 - 15 ppb, at least 2 km down stream
and may be detectable for over 6 km. The data indicates that the method is
effective in this environment and as a result new areas of interests have now
been identified.

These new areas have been visited and reconnaissance mapping is in progress. The
Company is also in the process of applying for new exploration licences over
these new areas. These new licences will be held directly by the Joint Venture
company.

Following the success of the BLEG sampling method, the Company has now started
applying this method over the 4000 km2 Maqu region, north of the Baima region,
where the Company has a first right of refusal to apply for exploration
licences.

In addition the Company has used satellite imagery which identified additional
targets (using clay-mica and silica-carbonate anomalies) in both the Baima and
Maqu regions. Satellite imagery follow up work is continuing.

The Company has also completed a Geographic Information System database which
compiles all the gold occurrences in the West Qinling area. This database will
help the Company in targeting new areas.

Chris Ford, CCG's Exploration Manager, comments "We are encouraged that these
reconnaissance techniques are providing positive responses and are confident
that their systematic application for the first time across the region will
generate high priority targets to test".

Jeff Malaihollo, CCG Managing Director, notes "We are aggressively exploring the
prospective Snow Mountain Project. We have two pronged strategy: advancing
exploration on known deposits and newly discovered targets, such as in the Xiang
Shu Jia licence area where we have doubled the size of one of the anomalous gold
zones (see announcement of 7 July 2005 for details) and generating new targets
within the areas where we have the first right of refusal to apply for
exploration licences".
