                            Shareholder Notification

Central China Goldfields plc has today been notified that City Equities Limited
had purchased 2,300,000 Ordinary Shares, representing 4.40% of the issued share
capital in the Placing prior to Admission.

Having sold (acting as principal) 2,159,000 of these shares to certain private
customers, as at the close of business on 30 March 2005, City Equities Limited
held 141,000 shares, representing 0.26% of the issued share capital and
therefore ceased to have a notifiable interest in the shares of Central China
Goldfields plc.
