                                  ACQUISITION

           Leading brand in parenting exhibitions in Germany acquired


Expomedia, the AIM quoted media group with interests in exhibitions,
conferences, venue management and related publishing, is pleased to announce the
acquisition of a series of German consumer exhibitions, "BABYWELT" - the leading
brand in parenting exhibitions in Germany, for an undisclosed amount.

The brand has been acquired from Messewelten, a subsidiary of Messe Berlin, by
G+J Expomedia Events ("GJ EME"), the Hamburg-based joint venture operation
between Expomedia and Gruner + Jahr AG & Co KG ("G+J"), Europe's leading
magazine publisher.

Key Points

*  Turnover of BABYWELT events in 2006 was Euro1.2 million;
*  Bookings for BABYWELT events for 2007 are currently 50% ahead of the same 
   period last year;
*  The acquired events will now be organised by GJ EME, with BABYWELT events 
   planned for the major cities of Hamburg, Essen, Cologne, Berlin, Munich and 
   Stuttgart;
*  The acquisition of BABYWELT underlines GJ EME's strategy of running consumer 
   shows within market segments dominated by G+J publications. G+J's Parenting 
   Magazine Group "Eltern" has a total of 10 titles throughout all market 
   sectors, a strong online presence and a successful merchandising range and 
   is by far the leader in this market, with a share of over 30%;
*  GJ EME intends to create various sponsorship opportunities for the 
   advertisers and partners of "Eltern" and it is expected that attendance at 
   the events will increase dramatically under new ownership with extensive 
   support from all G+J publications; and
*  BABYWELT complements Expomedia's strategy of acquiring leading and topical 
   exhibitions.


Opportunity

With 4.4 million babies and children under 6 years old, and a total market value
for healthcare, food and fashion of nearly Euro5 billion, Germany is Europe's
leading market in this sector. The increase in age at which parents now have
children, coupled with the dramatic increase in the average income of parents
with babies over the past 10 years, also means that the fastest growing segments
in this industry are luxury products and brands in all areas. This profile fits
perfectly with the readership of G+J women's magazines.

The BABYWELT shows cover the entire scope of baby related products including
nutrition, healthcare and fashion. It is Germany's leading brand for consumer
shows in this sector, bringing together smaller, local retailers, institutions
and suppliers with major national and international brands.

Today's news marks Expomedia's 4th acquisition in the current financial year.
