                  Announce acquisition of the Discomp Group
                      for FF10.8 Million (#1.05 Million)


Deltron Electronics plc ("Deltron"), the specialist European distributor of
electromechanical components and solutions, announces that it has acquired the
Discomp Group ("Discomp"), a French based distributor of connectors,
specialising in the telecommunications industry, with customers such as
Alcatel, Matra, and Axiohm. The Discomp Group comprises Discomp SA, Discomp
Production SA, and FOB Components SAS.

Deltron has acquired the entire share capital of Discomp for a cash
consideration of FF10.8m (#1.05m), of which FF8.8m (#0.85m) is payable on
completion, and FF2m (#0.2m) is payable in July 2001. Discomp has an annual
turnover of FF20m (#2m).

Deltron's existing operations in France, consist of three offices in Paris,
Vichy and Noirefontaine, and currently represent an annual turnover of FF150m
(#14.6m). Discomp will eventually be relocated and merged with these existing
operations.

Commenting on the acquisition, Christopher Sawyer, Chief Executive of Deltron,
