Appointment of Peter Ward as Non-Executive Chairman

Daniel Stewart Securities plc (AIM:DAN), the investment bank providing corporate advisory, institutional stockbroking and wealth management services, announces the appointment of Peter Terry Ward as Non-Executive Chairman with effect from 1 January 2016.

Mr Ward, aged 70, has a long and distinguished career in the in the international motor industry, working in Hong Kong, New York and London at a range of leading vehicle specialists. Most notably he has held senior board positions at Jardine International Motor Holdings Ltd, a listed entity in Hong Kong; Peugot, Unipart Ltd, Rolls-Royce and Bentley Motor Cars and Jaguar.

From 1995 to 1997 Peter was an Executive Director of Trafalgar House plc and between 1983 and 1995 he held senior positions at Vickers plc including COO of the Group and CEO and Chairman of Rolls-Royce and Bentley Motor Cars.

He is currently chairman of two boards: Bowman Power Group and manufacturer Yasa Motors. For the past 10 years he has devoted himself to helping develop start-ups, focussing on growing and developing fledgling clean-tech businesses in the automobile assembly, instrumentation and electric motor business.

Mr Ward is an experienced Chairman and brings 35 years of senior Board experience to the Daniel Stewart team and has in a variety of positions shown a commitment to strong corporate governance and guidance for Executive Management.

As a result of the appointment Peter Shea, currently Chairman and Chief Executive, will stand down from the role of Chairman to focus solely on the role of Chief Executive.
