Clipper 05-06 Round The World Yacht Race

Successful Race Start

Clipper Ventures Plc (`Clipper' or the `Company'), the AIM quoted ocean racing
company known for the Clipper Round The World Yacht Race and the 5-Oceans Solo
Grand Prix, announces the successful start of the 2005-2006 Clipper race,
yesterday from Albert Dock, Liverpool

All of the ten new 68 foot racing yachts: (Cardiff Clipper, Durban Clipper;
Western Australia Clipper, Glasgow Clipper; Jersey Clipper; Liverpool Clipper;
New York Clipper; Qingdao Clipper; Singapore Clipper; Victoria Clipper) were
part of the spectacular formation, lead by HMS St Albans, HMS Charger and MHS
Biter, as the yachts commenced the first leg of their journey to the Port of
Brazil via Cascais, Portugal.

Sir Robin Knox-Johnston, Chairman of Clipper Ventures Plc, commented:

"Judging by the crowds, the level of planning by Liverpool and media interest
for the race start,there can be no doubt of Clipper's rightful inclusion in the
world sporting calendar. The quality of sponsorship received for this event and
the level of crew applications,is higher than ever before and we are already
negotiating for the 2007 race.
