                Acquisition of Planet Hollywood in Dublin
                                    
The  Board  of Capital Bars plc ("Capital Bars") is pleased to  announce
that  it  has  acquired the business and assets of Planet  Hollywood  in
Dublin   for  IR#1.35million,  payable  in  cash  on  completion.    The
consideration  will  be funded from Capital Bars'  existing  facilities.
The  acquisition, which is subject to landlord's consent, comprises  the
leasehold interest in the Planet Hollywood premises at the St. Stephen's
Green  Shopping Centre.  The lease is for a 25 year term  from  16  July
1997 at an annual rent of IR#351,000, with reviews every five years.

Capital  Bars has acquired all the fixtures and fittings at the premises
with the exception of memorabilia specific to Planet Hollywood.  In  the
immediate  term  the  premises will continue to be  operated  as  Planet
Hollywood under a franchise arrangement.

Planet  Hollywood  is situated on a prime site at St Stephens  Green  in
Dublin and the acquisition consolidates Capital Bars' position as one of
the leading bar/restaurant operators in Dublin.
