The  Board of Capital Bars plc (the "Company") has today granted options
of  400,000 ordinary shares to Hugh Doherty, the Group Finance Director,
under  the Company's Long Term Incentive Plan.  The options will  become
exercisable on 13 January 2003 for nil consideration, dependent  on  the
group achieving certain performance conditions.
