Record number of listeners across the UK

The Capital Radio group achieved a record number of adult listeners across the
UK, a total of 8.3 million, in the latest RAJAR report (Wave 3, 2001) released
today.
Capital Radio London's reach remains stable at 35% representing 3.6 million
adult listeners. Share of all radio listening was15.6 % (15.7% Wave 3, 2000;
16.2 % Wave 2, 2001). 95.8 Capital FM recorded the highest number of adult
listeners since the last quarter of 1999, reaching 2.9 million Londoners.
Earlier today Capital Radio announced the purchase of a 19% stake in Choice
FM. The station increased its number of listeners by 29% to 356,000 adults
(Wave3, 2001) and increased share by more than a third to 1.1%.
The recently acquired Century FM Network and Beat 106 increased their number
of listeners, demonstrating Capital's ability to successfully manage
acquisitions in competitive marketplaces. The Century FM Network's weekly
reach rises to 17% (16% Wave 2 2001) representing 1.6 million adult listeners.
Share of listening increased to 6.9 % (6.5% Wave 2, 2001). Beat 106 achieved a
record reach of 19% (18% Wave 2, 2001), over half a million adult listeners.
