BARRASFORD HOLDINGS PLC ("Barrasford")
Planning Permission Obtained at Queen's Gate Terrace
Barrasford, a company investing in high quality residential
properties in Kensington and Chelsea, announces a successful
outcome to its planning application for the complete
refurbishment of its property at Queen's Gate Terrace.
On 14 April 1997, it was announced that Barrasford Limited,
a wholly owned subsidiary of Barrasford, had exchanged
contracts to purchase eight freehold residential buildings
in 35-49 Queen's Gate Terrace, London SW7 ("Queen's Gate
Terrace") for #13.5 million. The acquisition was funded by
the successful placing of Ordinary Shares in Barrasford and
was ratified by an Extraordinary General Meeting on 23 June
1997.
The Directors of Barrasford stated at the time that on the
basis of a feasibility study which they conducted on the
property, they believed that if the property were to be
refurbished, there would be a substantial uplift in the
capital value.
Now, therefore, the Directors of Barrasford are delighted to
announce that on 20 November 1997, the Planning Department
of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea formally
approved Barrasford's plans for the refurbishment of Queen's
Gate Terrace. Work on the refurbishment has already begun
and the Directors of Barrasford expect the refurbishment to
be completed within 18 months.
Commenting on the planning permission, Oliver Vaughan, Chief
Executive of Barrasford, said:
"This is excellent news. We are delighted that our
refurbishment plans for Queen's Gate Terrace have been
approved. When completed, the property will be the jewel of
our portfolio, producing a healthy yield and enhancing the
capital value."
