           ATLANTIC TELECOM GROUP PLC ("ATLANTIC" OR THE "COMPANY")



Further to the announcement on 5 October 2001, the Board of Atlantic confirms
that the Court of Session in Edinburgh has agreed to appoint interim managers
to the Company and that the High Court in London has agreed to appoint
administrators to Atlantic Telecommunications Limited, the Company's principal
UK trading subsidiary.
