Cardpoint plc ("Cardpoint" or the "Company")
Recent Press Speculation

In response to today's press speculation regarding a potential offer by
Cardpoint for Moneybox plc ("Moneybox"), the Board of Cardpoint confirms that
it is in advanced discussions with the Board of Moneybox regarding a possible
cash offer of 43 pence per share for the entire issued and to be issued share
capital of Moneybox. The possible offer remains subject to, inter alia, the 
board of Moneybox recommending the offer and the completion of financing
arrangements. Accordingly, there can be no certainty that any offer will be
made nor as to the terms on which any offer might be made.

A further announcement will be made in due course.
