                      ALLIED LEISURE PLC ("ALLIED")


On  5  August  1999 the Company was informed that Mr  John  T  Casey,  a
director of Allied, had exercised an option over 25,000 European Leisure
PLC Ordinary Shares of 6p each, at a price of 81.5p per share.

On 6 August 1999 the Company was informed that Mr Casey had subsequently
accepted  the Allied offer and been issued with 106,000 Ordinary  Shares
of  5p each in Allied.  Of these, 90,000 were sold at a price of 23p  to
cover the cost of exercise, etc.  The remaining 16,000 were retained and
Mr  Casey  now  holds 216,786 Allied shares representing  0.08%  of  the
current issued share capital.
