BT ANNOUNCES #2,152,011,649 BOND ISSUE
British Telecommunications plc ("BT") today announced that it has issued bonds
to a wholly owned subsidiary undertaking of BT. The bond issue represents a
formalising of existing internal funding and the bond listing has no affect on
the net and gross debt position of the BT group. The total sterling value of
the issued bonds was #2,152,011,649 and the bonds mature in 2020. The bonds are
listed on the Luxembourg Stock Exchange.
British Telecommunications plc (''BT plc'') is a wholly-owned subsidiary of BT
Group plc and is BT Group plc's principal trading subsidiary. Its principal
activity includes networked IT services, local, national and international
telecommunications services; and broadband and internet products and services.
BT Group plc is the listed holding company for an integrated group of businesses
that provide communications solutions in the UK and elsewhere in Europe, the
Americas and the Asia Pacific Region.
