exercised Sharesave Options over Ordinary Shares of 10 pence each in South
Staffordshire Group Plc. The Options were granted on 18 December 1998 at an
option price of £3.104 and reached maturity on 1 February 2002 following a 3
year savings period.

Mr J A Bishop exercised an option over 2,490 shares (0.003% of the issued
shares). His holding has increased to 4,187 shares (0.006%).

Mr J Carnell exercised an option over 1,620 shares (0.003% of the issued
shares). His holding has increased to 11,652 shares (0.02%).
