U.S. investment firm BlackRock Inc. holds 5.01% of French entertainment-to-telecoms conglomerate Vivendi SA's (VIV.FR) capital and votes, the French stock market regulator said Wednesday.

The Autorite des Marches Financiers said in a regulatory statement that BlackRock boosted its Vivendi holding above the 5% mandatory reporting threshold May 7 though market transactions.

The AMF didn't say how many shares BlackRock or its affiliates held prior to the latest purchases.
