French media-to-telecom conglomerate Vivendi SA (VIV.FR) Thursday said it has appointed Lucian Grainge as a member of its management board.

MAIN FACTS:

- Grainge is currently Co-CEO of Universal Music Group, or UMG.

- Grainge will take up the position of Chief Executive Officer of UMG on Jan 1 2011, based in New York, succeeding Doug Morris, who will remain as Chairman.
