Bank of America Corp. (BAC) filed shelf registrations at Japan's Ministry of Finance last week to issue samurai and uridashi bonds over the next two years, documents filed at the ministry showed Monday.

Samurai are yen-denominated bonds issued in Japan by foreign borrowers, and uridashi are bonds issued offshore in foreign currency and sold to Japanese retail investors.
