Siemens Gets Order for 31 Battery-Electric Trains in Eastern Germany

Siemens AG said Monday that it has received an order for 31
battery-electric trains for regional services in Germany.
The industrial company said rail-service provider Niederbarnimer
Eisenbahn ordered 31 two-car Mireo Plus B trains for the East
Brandenburg rail network in the Berlin-Brandenburg area, the region
that includes and surrounds the German capital in the east of the
country.
Services are expected to launch in December 2024.
The order also includes a service and spare-parts supply
contract until 2036.
No financial details were provided.
