Seven & i Holdings Co. (3382.TO) said Thursday it will acquire all shares in New York-based WFI Group Inc. to expand its convenience store operations in North America.

The Japanese retail giant, which runs 7-Eleven convenience stores in Japan and the U.S., did not disclose the price of the deal, but said the acquisition of the shares is expected to be completed in June.

WFI Group is the parent firm of Wilson Farms Inc., which operates nearly 200 convenience stores in New York.

Seven & i expects the acquisition to have a limited impact on its earnings for the current fiscal year through February 2012.
