French reinsurer Scor SE (SCR.FR) faces little risk from swine flu, the head of the company's global life business said Thursday.

Gilles Meyer said during a conference call with analysts that the potential impact from swine flu on Scor's portfolio is "very small," adding that the company has protection policies in place should the spread of the disease intensify.

"If you compare it to the two prior events, SARS and bird flu, the impact to our portfolio was completely nil," Meyer said. "You really need a very huge pandemic to have a real impact on our portfolio."
