TV on the Internet Company, Narrowstep (OTCBB:NRWS) will launch its end-to-end IPTV system in partnership with set top box manufacturer Amino Communications at IBC 2006. The alliance of Narrowstep's sophisticated Television Operating System (telvOS(TM)) with Amino's set top box, will enable IPTV channels to be delivered to consumers' traditional TV screens. The IPTV 'in a box' system will sit alongside and complement existing established broadcasting systems such as satellite or cable by giving access to any of Narrowstep's 120 channels including cycling.tv, Martial Arts Channel, ITV local and London TV. Video content can be made available in linear schedules, via a search function, live and on-demand to meet the viewing requirements of all end-users. The easy to use Electronic Programming Guide will enable easy real time management of IPTV for channel operators, and offers built-in commercial models such as subscription, pay-per-view and dynamic one-to-one advertising, to IPTV channel owners. "The combination of Narrowstep and Amino technologies provides a low cost end-to-end IPTV solution that can be deployed rapidly," comments Iolo Jones, founder and Chief Strategic Officer of Narrowstep. "As well as appealing to ISPs and network providers wishing to launch their own branded TV services, it will enable broadcasters and content owners to directly distribute their own channels, cutting out the need to work through traditional distributors. We wanted to build on the 'best of IBC' award we won last year and where better to launch our new offering than IBC 2006. For the first time, individual channels will be able to launch a real 'TV station in a box' solution." The new system will be demonstrated for the first time on Amino's stand at IBC 2006 at 3:30pm on Friday, 8th September in Hall 5, Stand 238.
