PR Newswire (US)
BROOKLYN, N.Y., July 26 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Multimedia
Tutorial Services, Inc. (OTC:MMTS) (BULLETIN BOARD: MMTS) , a
leading developer of educational content and marketer of math
tutorial programs announced the results today for its first fiscal
quarter ended May 31, 2007. Net sales for the three months ended
May 31, 2007 were $179,742, compared to $246,319 for the three
months ended May 31, 2006. The lower overall sales for the period
were primarily a result of the Company spending less on advertising
as it continues to optimize the efficiency of its online marketing,
against the backdrop a more competitive internet environment and
the introduction of its new products. The lower expenditures are
consistent with the Company's objective to build sales on a
profitable basis. In this regard, the Company has since retained an
internet advertising agency to develop new strategies, which has
already resulted lower lead and customer acquisition costs. The
Company continues to report high gross profit margins,
approximating 85% of sales. Net Loss from operations for the
quarter, before non-cash charges for depreciation and amortization,
accrued interest, stock-based compensation and amortization of
deferred costs was $120,924 compared to $54,985 for the same period
in 2006. According to Barry Reichman, Multimedia's President, "The
Company is quite pleased that it was able to control out-of-pocket
costs and maintain relatively stable quarter-to-quarter operating
results while it committed additional financial resources to
broadening its product line and optimizing its online marketing
strategies, which contributed to the increased Net Loss for the
period." Reichman added that "The Company has been gearing-up for
the new school year to market its enhanced line of supplemental
education tools for both the home and classroom, which includes
Math Made Easy, English- as-a-Second-Language, The Tutorial
Channel, Sat Test Prep and its soon to be launched 'Live
Interactive Online Classes.' In this regard, the Company is
currently developing marketing partnerships and creating new
advertising programs for both online and traditional media
campaigns that are planned to begin in September. As sales of the
Company's tutorial products are generally lower during the summer
months, it is not likely there will be any significant improvement
in sales until our third fiscal quarter ending November 30 2007."
"We also believe that the Company's enhanced line of products and
services combined with its recently announced joint-venture with
Winner Media and its engagement of Investor Relations Group can
greatly contribute to the company's future growth prospects,"
concluded Reichman. About Multimedia Tutorial Services, Inc.
